About the Author

Born in Chennai and bounced as a youngling between the U.S. and India, Ashwin Muthiah is a Certified Sommelier, wine teacher, and writer exploring the inner depths of our human nature through the pursuit of a universal joy: flavor. Ashwin's background is winding and wandering through language, technology, business, education, food, and wine.

Ashwin has started, managed, and owned various businesses in the technology, art, hospitality, and education sectors. He spends the vast majority of his time creating, tasting, teaching, and writing — all, almost always, in the pursuit of flavor. At 8, Ashwin set out to write his first book, penciling by hand on wide-ruled paper 30-pages of a Captain-Underpants-like novel lost now to the void of childhood memories. A decade later, he tried his hand anew, finding he was still too young to match wits with a blank page. In Pursuit of Flavor is at its core a childhood dream, erupting from an adult’s body.

Ashwin lives happily with his fiancée Savannah wherever life calls them, always with a notebook and a guitar.
